Good service goes a long way with me. My waitress was really friendly. The food was great. Much better than Waffle House. Very comparable to the food down south. Not fresh made but they did a damn good job with what they had. My hash browns were a little over cooked for most but fortunately that's how I prefer them. The waitress stopped by several times to check on me. She could teach a class on customer service. If I lived here this would be a normal spot for myself and my family.

If I was rating just the food I would give a 2 but the diner experience & milk shakes contributed to a 3 star. Staff was friendly & provided good service. Burgers & coney dog were average at best! If we return I will be sticking with breakfast options.

Great Malts for before or after a movie at the Parkwood. I've been here numerous times, and while I have to say I haven't been very impressed with the food (underdone hamburgers), the malts are fantastic. The décor is fun - a 50s/60s style diner. Say you're on a date, and you're hitting a movie at the theater. The Park Diner would be perfect for sharing a malt (or getting your own, though they are served with the metal malt cup and the extra malt) before or after the movie. Skip the food, unless its fries.

We came here for our daughters birthday lunch!! She wanted a malt :-) So we ordered strawberry and turtle malts. Our birthday girl wanted the chicken noodle soup, our other daughter had a chicken bacon ranch wrap, my youngest son and daughter shared a cheeseburger and I had a chicken Caesar wrap. The malts were fantastic! They were gone in no time! The food was less than average. No one was impressed. I would come here for a malt again but that's about it.. It sure was better back in the day.

I am never disappointed with their breakfast here, I don't eat from their dinner menu very often but hear many good things! Perfect place to eat with friends or family before a movie. Love the atmosphere, and service is great!

The shakes/malts here are great! They give you the full glass plus the mixing cup, which is pretty much the equivalent to two shakes. Lots of flavor or mix-ins and VERY tasty. Go on Thursdays for $1 of shakes or malts! We also ordered the cheese curds and they were ok.

Well worth a visit. Excellent REAL chocolate malts!

Quaint and kitschy, this place has a real diner feel. I recommend getting the Chicken Twist sandwich with batter bites for the side. I love dipping them in ranch. Don't judge, you're at a diner in a small town. Finish it all off with a shake or malt of your choosing - they give you almost two full glasses! Good luck finishing it all.

It tries very hard to be a classic diner but when you visit a real diner such as mickey's dineing car in st paul, you realize how not a diner it is. The food does taste decent and the price isn't bad but the atmosphere is more like a bad disney clone of a diner and that impacts things a lot for me.

Great breakfast joint. Try the skillet(pictured) or the omelette. Great 50's diner atmosphere. Fun little greasy spoon. Will be back for breakfast or a milkshake. Next time I'll bring the kids...they would love this place!

The good news: no food poisoning!!! I took Mrs. Carnivore on an overnight adventure a bit ago, and for breakfast, we decided to try the Park Diner. In retrospect, "because it's really shiny" might not be the best selection criteria for an eatery. When we walked in, the temp was a solid -4 degrees. (The Carnivore only uses proper measurements, so things like Celsius, liters, and kilometers are neither used nor wanted. Learn proper measurements, and you will be happier.) I have no idea what the wind chill was, but as the notion of "wind chill" and "heat index" as well as the new wussified strength scales used to measure tornadoes and hurricanes are merely tools invented by the weather terrorists to make sheeple believe the weather is worse than it actually is, I do not recognize them as actual things. The temperature is the temperature, and that is that. If it is windy, put on a damn hat and stop whining. Being the Carnivore, -4 is a perfectly good time for ice cream, so I ordered a malt. Ice cream is a meat byproduct, and thusly is valid fare. Here is where things started to go south. Hot fudge is one of my favorite ingredients, and when combined with butterscotch in a malt, the result is staggeringly awesome. Unless someone puts the entire planet's supply of hot fudge in the malt. Sadly, I have now experienced this tragedy, and do not like it. Caramel and cinnamon rolls were uninspired, somewhat dry, the caramel sauce was a rather unappealing color, and the best thing Mrs. Carnivore had to say was that they "tasted like bread." Eggs and bacon were fine, no complaints on either of those. The hash browns seemed to have been run through a dehumidifier before being overcooked. They were crispy, crunchy, dark brown, and not really potato-like. Pancakes had their own level of crispiness to them. Yes, folks, the pancakes were crispy. Now that the food is out of the way, a few words about the service. Our table was serviced in one way or another by no fewer than three individuals. A beverage refill was offered once, our food sat in the window waiting to be brought to us for quite some time. Most annoyingly, when we were finished eating, there was no evidence of anyone that wanted to bring our bill to us. We had to actually go to the cash register and point at the table we had occupied. You will not pay a lot to eat here, but The Carnivore believes it to still not be a good deal. The Carnivore does not recommend this establishment, and will not be returning to it. McBreakfast tastes better, is faster, will not make you wait to pay your bill, and will not give you pancakes that have a crunch to them, and is cheaper. The preceding should not be considered an endorsement of McBreakfast, but an easy comparative example.

Food is average and that is being kind. Food had no flavor. Cheap coffee and low quality bread. Guess I can't complain to much it is a diner but sometimes you find a gem at a diner, not this one though. Service is average, what you would expect in a diner. The decor is great and place is very clean. Will I come back, no.

Great food great service! Love their shakes, lots of options, good for kids too. I love the baked chicken, it's all made in house down to the croutons. Their ranch is super good as well, good for fry dipping. It tends to be fairly busy, the waitresses work as quickly as possible.

Maybe we just hit this place on an off day but my group was really not impressed. The food was not very good. It was greasy lacking in flavor. Both the seats and table of the booth we were seated in were sticky in spots. The entire place just felt grimy. There was food on the floor and the windows were smudged. I only added a second star to this review because our waitress was really friendly and very attentive.

Their food is hit or miss but the malts are always fabulous! They used to give you some sort of discount with a movie stub from the theater next to it- not sure if they still do.

Love the malts! Piece of pumpkin pie mixed in with it? Yes.... Amazing! Also the Louie Louie steak sandwich was great! Juicy and melt in your mouth extraordinary!

As friendly as the staff is, you would think it would be enough for a higher score. Unfortunately, I had to ask for everything from the moment I sat down and ordered coffee which was brought with no cream to not actually getting a bill until I made my way to the register. The food was bland and at the register when I quietly told my server her only reply was, "OK". I also said I wish I had known about the special , (hint hint) no one was home though. Too bad... The two stars is generous now that I think about it.

Straight from the '50's, or at least the spoonfed concept surrounding that era. Jukebox with oldies on it from The Beach Boys, The Archies, Buddy Holly, and many, many others. Play the juke at your leisure while you dine. Stereotypical black and white tiled floor, some blue and pink neon lights, and framed hit records/covers on the walls. Booths make up the majority of seating choices. Fun atmosphere for the family, or just something different. Service is usually very good, performed with smiles and patience (for the catholics with triplets down the aisle). The food is somewhat hit or miss, but the malts and shakes are loads of dairy goodness. There is always a malt or shake of the month, some intriguing new flavor each time. My personal fav is the hot fudge shake. Yes, Hot. Fudge. Sinfully delicious. Park diner also offers a free shake with meal purchase on your birthday. This is a must try if you are in the St. Cloud/Waite Park area.
